Look at us. We are having a nice dinner at Fillipi’s. This was our favorite hangout in the early seventies. The place hasn’t changed and neither have we.
After a long illness Kenneth Gunter husband of of Gma’s sister Helen passed today. Although we didn’t see him much, we will remember him well. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kenneth, his wife Helen, and his family.
I ran across this in the InterWebs. It is a bulk box of M and Ms. TEN pounds. It costs 250 bucks. Did you know you can buy M and Ms with your picture on them? They are expensive, too.
BTW, my birthday isn’t too far away. Shop ahead so there isn’t any panic about what to get me. Hey Father’s Day is pretty soon, I think.
Here is some video I took at the parade on Saturday. I was a little tired from going to different places and climbing to the top of buildings, but I think it came out pretty good

See if you can find us.
Tired of constantly being broke & stuck in an unhappy marriage, a young husband decided to solve both problems by taking out a large insurance policy on his wife with himself as the beneficiary, and then arranging to have her killed.
A 'friend of a friend' put him in touch with a nefarious dark-side underworld figure who went by the name of 'Artie.'
Artie then explained to the husband that his going price for snuffing out a spouse was $5,000.
The husband said he was willing to pay that amount, but that he wouldn't have any cash on hand until he could collect his wife's insurance money.
Artie insisted on being paid at least something up front, so the man opened his wallet, displaying the single dollar bill that rested inside. Artie sighed, rolled his eyes, & reluctantly agreed to accept the dollar as down payment for the dirty deed.
A few days later, Artie followed the man's wife to the local Super Wal-Mart store. There, he surprised her in the produce department & proceeded to strangle her with his gloved hands & as the poor unsuspecting woman drew her last breath & slumped to the floor........ the manager of the produce department stumbled unexpectedly onto the murder scene.. Unwilling to leave any living witnesses behind, ol' Artie had no choice but to strangle the produce manager as well.
However, unknown to Artie, the entire proceedings were captured by the hidden security cameras & observed by the store's security guard, who immediately called the police. Artie was caught & arrested before he could even leave the store.
Under intense questioning at the police station, Artie revealed the whole sordid plan, including his unusual financial arrangements with the hapless husband who was also quickly arrested.
The next day in the newspaper, the headline declared ...
(You're going to hate me for this ... )
'ARTIE CHOKES 2 for $1.00 AT WAL-MART!'
So, Tuesday morning, I am snoozing away at about 9 in the morning. Then comes the dreaded emergency wake-up with mom blinking the lights and talking to me in a firm voice. I run through all the possibilities as I am trying to wake up. Theresa’s kitty got run over, Tab rolled her car over, Ivy is stuck somewhere with a dead battery, somebody died, mom’s car won’t start. You know, the usual sort of thing.
As I struggle to wake up, I hear mom mumbling about something about a Deputy Sherriff upstairs, wanting to talk to me, and something about red lights flashing.
At this point, I decided that maybe I should get up.I didn’t think to look out the window and count the cars. (We have learned that one cop means your probably not in much trouble, two means something is seriously wrong, and three means you’re going to jail.)
I get up there, trying to look semi-conscious and there he is, kinda like the picture, but only one.
I am still working on my level of consciousness and he starts talking about they have a report from the school district that I had passed a school bus when the red lights were on. They also said that I passed the bus at a “high rate of speed.”
I didn’t have a clue, until he said the location of the offence. Then I remembered the incident.
Tell me what you think: I am cruising down Silverdale Way down by Chico Way and I see an approaching school bus ahead of me with the yellow flashing lights coming on. Expecting the driver to hit the reds, I slowed waaay down and prepared to stop. We had eye contact and everything and I slowed and slowed and she kept going yellow, yellow, so when I was up to front of the bus, because the reds were not on, I very slowly proceeded past the bus. I was really wondering what was going because my experience with busses is that they don’t usually worry about other traffic when deciding when to hit the reds.
After I passed the bus by, I was looking at in the rear-view trying to figure it out. Behind me, I saw the stop sign pop out and the red flashers starting. I spent some of my valuable time reviewing this incident.
Finally, with more pressing matters on my mind, I let it go. It was just one of the many things I try to figure out, when I have a moment or two.
As I was explaining this to the Deputy, he mentioned that HE always stops on the yellow lights, so I guess now I will do so to.
He also said that he would forward my statement to the School District. He said that normally he would just issue a $400 citation, but since I had a reasonable explanation he would just tell them what I said. I don’t remember a lot of detail, but mom said that she thought that nothing would come of it. I would not mind a little court thing. It would give me a chance to exercise my legal skills.
Today was Daniel’s birthday. His party was at Skateland, one of my favorite places.
One of his presents was a Star Wars light saber. I noticed on the package the claim that its “sleek metal handle” was just like a “real light saber.” As opposed to…
